You can apply for the IGNITE: The Account for JN Members - Jamaican resident, if you:
  • Have a JN Bank account in Jamaica held in your name. This account must be in Pounds Sterling (GBP).
  • Have a Jamaican or UK Passport.
  • Are aged 18 or over and are a Jamaican resident.
  • Have a Jamaican mobile phone number and an email address

Before proceeding with your application, please make sure you have the following information ready:

  • Your JN Bank Pound Sterling (GBP) account number in Jamaica.
  • Your Jamaican tax identification number (TIN).
  • Your Jamaican Passport Number and its expiry date.

Please note: the account must be opened in sole name only; you are permitted to open only one Ignite: The Account for JN Members with us; it will only be active once the minimum deposit has been paid; which must be within 14 days from the account opening date, otherwise it will be closed. Interest rates are correct at the time of publication but may change in the future. Please make sure the nominated JN Bank account in Jamaica has the ability to receive funds from your account with us. The JN Bank account in Jamaica must be in Pound Sterling (GBP). The deposit transactions are restricted to once a month. Withdrawals can be made via the JN Bank internet banking service, with a single transaction limit of £50,000 and a maximum of 1 transaction per month.

  • The Interest Rate (gross/AER variable) payable for IGNITE: The Account for JN members - Jamaican residents account is 4.01% gross/AER variable on balances between £1 - £500,000.
  • The amount of interest you will earn will apply to the whole balance of your account. 
  • AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and illustrates what the interest rate would be if paid and compounded once each year. Gross interest is the interest rate paid without the deduction of income tax.

This means we may increase or decrease interest rates at any time, for example, to reflect a change in the Bank of England bank rate, if there are changes in the cost to us of providing accounts to you, or to maintain our financial stability.   • You must be aged 18 or over and be a Jamaica resident to open an IGNITE: The Account for JN Members – Jamaican residents.
  • You must have a JN Bank account in Jamaica held in your name. This account must be in Pound Sterling (GBP). JN Bank accounts in Jamaica that are in currency other than GBP will not be eligible for this account.
  • The minimum amount you can deposit in the account is £1.
  • The account must be opened in sole name only.
  • You can open only one IGNITE: The Account for JN members – Jamaican residents account with us.
  • The maximum amount that can be deposited in the account is £500,000. The deposit transactions are restricted to once a month. 
  • You must invest a minimum of £1 within 14 days of account opening to ensure that your account remains open.
  • You do not have to deposit any further minimum amount at any time following the initial deposit.

You can transfer money from your IGNITE: The account for JN members – Jamaican residents to your JN Bank account in Jamaica. The nominated account must be in Pound Sterling (GBP). Withdrawals can be made via the JN Bank internet banking service, with a single transaction limit of £50,000 and a maximum of 1 transaction per month.

  • You can fund your account by initiating a money transfer from your JN Bank account in Jamaica to your account with us.
  • If you want to switch to another JN Bank product or close your account, please contact Customer Services on 0808 196 1945.
  • This is not a bonus Interest is paid gross.
  • The Personal Savings Allowance is £1,000 for basic rate taxpayers and £500 for higher rate taxpayers. Additional rate taxpayers don’t receive a Personal Savings You may need to pay tax on any interest that exceeds the Personal Savings Allowance. Please contact HMRC if you need more information.
  • An account with JN Bank in the UK does not give you any membership rights with the JN Group.
