Blackett Lab Family Connect

The Blackett Lab Family is made up of a group of people from a variety of professions and specialisms all over the UK, who share a passion for Physics and positive representation of the Black community.

On Thursday January 26^th it was our delight to host the Blackett Lab Family for their networking meeting. It was a chance for the team to meet with likeminded Physics professionals and students to support each other and work together to encourage and promote Physics to the Black community. Their mission is to represent, connect and inspire.

The team shared a few projects they were working on including volunteering at a Summer School programme later this year and helping Science Teachers who teach Physics in UK Schools. Their network also offers support, mentorship and opportunities for past, current and future UK based Black Physicists. Several of the attendees included students who recently completed or are on the verge of completing their PhD in Physics or a Science based discipline. 

It was a pleasure hosting this brilliant group and sharing a lovely evening with them.
